In response to Apple's previous accusation against Samsung for infringing its screen slide-to-unlock patent, the court earlier ruled that Samsung's products did cause patent infringement and therefore ordered it to pay Apple $1.196 million in compensation.
Prior to this, the court actually ruled in 2014 that the jury found that Samsung products did infringe Apple patents, including technical patents such as unlocking the device by sliding the screen and quick connection, but Apple itself was also found to have infringed Samsung patents.
Apple and Samsung have been suing each other over technology patents for a long time. Recent rulings seem to be more favorable to Apple, and Apple has even filed additional lawsuits against Samsung, demanding higher compensation to compensate for related business losses.
The court battle between Apple and Samsung has not yet ended. Although Samsung paid Apple a huge amount of compensation of more than US$5 million at the end of last year, it continues to appeal.
