VMware stated that Foxconn's Tiger Leap Cloud Data Center, which was officially launched in June this year, was built based on its VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and cloud solutions such as NSX Advanced Load Balancer, allowing Foxconn to achieve centralized resource management and achieve its zero-carbon goals through virtualization technology.
After launching the Tiger Leap Cloud Data Center in Taiwan, Foxconn will use it as a basis to replicate the same construction model to more locations around the world, allowing Foxconn's internal data to be quickly connected, thereby accelerating Foxconn's F2.0 digital transformation vision.
Through the software-defined VMware Cloud Foundation architecture, Hon Hai will now maintain consistent operations and infrastructure across multi-cloud environments, enabling seamless data integration across all departments and improving data management efficiency. Furthermore, services such as NSX Advanced Load Balancer multi-cloud load balancing, network application firewall, and container influx will further simplify Hon Hai's management and achieve real-time monitoring and automated development while ensuring data security.
"Since 2019, Foxconn Technology Group Chief Information Officer Gong Peiyuan said, "Foxconn has been committed to creating a smarter, innovative lifestyle, and has continuously worked towards our three major goals: F1.0 current optimization, F2.0 digital transformation, and F3.0 transformation and upgrade. The establishment of the Tiger Leap Cloud Data Center is a key cornerstone for Foxconn's presence in Taiwan and global ambitions. Foxconn will continue to collaborate with VMware and leverage its hybrid cloud solutions to enable Foxconn's vast business groups to have a more flexible, secure, and sustainable resource management strategy, setting a model for industry transformation."
VMware Taiwan General Manager Chen Xuezhi said, "VMware has long been a key driver of digital transformation for Taiwanese enterprises, committed to building customized cloud-smart digital blueprints for local partners and connecting diverse industries with world-class innovative technologies. We are honored to have the opportunity to jointly launch global cloud services with Foxconn, centered around the Tiger Leap Cloud Data Center. This will successfully promote more flexible global digital management, resource scheduling, and technological innovation, allowing Foxconn to successfully open the door to cross-domain expansion and add value to its competitive advantage in the international market."
In addition, by deploying and operating a virtualized architecture, Foxconn can reduce the number of physical machines it has built, thereby lowering carbon emissions and energy consumption during data center operations. It is also expected to maximize the effective utilization of the host and improve resource conversion rates.
