Facebook將協助提供難民網路資源

在近期展開的聯合國私營部門論壇活動中,Facebook執行長Mark Zuckerberg強調連網將成為人類基礎權力,同時也將是推動和平的一股力量,而Facebook將致力協助聯合國讓全球地區的難民營均能享有網路資源。

根據紐約時報報導指出,Mark Zuckerberg稍早於聯合國私營部門論壇活動中表示,未來將致力協助聯合國提供全球地區難民營足夠連網資源,藉此讓因戰爭等因素流離失所的難民仍可藉由網路與外界維持聯繫,同時讓難民可透過網路資源尋求更多援助等。

不過,Mark Zuckerberg並未具體透露此項計畫將如何施行運作,同時難民將透過何種方式與網路資源銜接也還無法確定。

在先前時候,Facebook已經主導Internet.org平台計畫,藉由與各地區電信、網路服務合作等模式,藉此以免費或合理價位方式讓網路資源匱乏地區的使用者能更容易與全球連網資訊接軌。雖然後續引發可能獨佔資源等市場質疑,但Facebook強調Internet.org平台主要開放給各個在地服務業者使用,並未打算與各地區服務業者競爭。
